• New grass seed mixture launched for low fertility soils

Limagrain UK has introduced the Meadow Mixture, a grass ley formulation without ryegrasses, suitable for farmers wanting to recreate more traditional meadows. It is also well suited to fertility soils or to renovate damaged water meadows.

The new mixture contains a range of traditional grasses including meadow fescue and Timothy. Mixed herbs or chicory can also be supplied separately, for mixing in the drill. Meadow Mixture is available in 25kg bags.

Limagrain’s Ian Misselbrook said: “Limagrain has developed Meadow Mixture which includes meadow fescue and Timothy, as both grasses have the potential to out-yield perennial ryegrasses, in lower fertility soils. It can also be used in conservation areas. Adding mixed herbs or chicory to the formulation enhances the nutritional benefits of the sward.”
